THE ORIGIN OF OUR CLUB
Raoul Dallaire was the instigator of a meeting to organize a Hunting and Fishing Club to be located in Haute Aboujagane. The first reunion took place on April 27, 1995 in the parish hall.
The reasons for such a meeting were twofold.
The first reason was to try to explain and clarify Bill C-68, a federal law that would require that all firearms in Canada be registered in the near future.
And the second reason was to discuss the possibilities to organize a Hunting and Fishing Club.
The idea was well received and the club was incorporated June 14 th 1995.
A shooting range was immediately set up on a piece of land rented for 100 years from Aubrey Dallaire. The shooting range was approved by the Chief Firearms Officer on August 12 th 1995.
The Club became proprietor of 23 acres lot on February 14th 1996. An entrance and roadway were built to gain access to where the clubhouse is situated today. That building is the base for many activities for the membership.
